The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals and collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to support business initiatives and ensure compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial statements.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities in partnership with FP&A.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior leadership.
- Mentor, train, and supervise accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Drive system enhancements and process improvements, including leveraging ERP capabilities (SAP or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of accounting systems and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience working with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics (D365) is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
